The Acting Studio – New York offers: a full time 6-Week Acting Conservatory; a full time Summer Acting Conservatory; The Evening Acting Program: a structured, multilevel course of prescribed classes expressly for the developing actor in search of conservatory training on an elective, part-time basis and for the university trained actor who is beginning to make the transition from college theatre to New York theatre in the pursuit of an acting career; Advanced Classes for the working actor who desires to stay active and further improve his/her skills during the periods between acting work; Principles of Acting – Introduction to Meisner: a highly regarded ten-week class that is excellent for the serious beginner who is interested in testing his/her ability in a professional training environment as well as for seasoned professionals who wish to further their craftsmanship; additional discipline classes for On-Camera Film TV Audition, Monologue Workshop, Voice & Speech, Foreign Accent Reduction, Stage Combat, Playwriting and Directing. Chelsea Repertory Company, Chelsea Rep LAB and Playwriting LAB, the Studio’s resident theatre company and experimental laboratories, provide actors and directors with opportunities to develop and a forum where the Studio’s students can gain practical performance experience outside the classroom.
The Acting Studio – New York is dedicated equally to the development of skills at the highest level through intensive short-term and long-term classes, and to the practical application of those skills in work presented in the studio’s respected and regularly held “open-class“ forums, and group projects presented under the auspices of the Chelsea Rep LAB, as well as on productions for public performance produced in conjunction with Chelsea Repertory Company. The success of many of its students in Film, Theatre and Television earns the studio a right to claim “developing award-winning talent.”
In a private acting conservatory studio like The Acting Studio – New York we provide a breadth and depth of experience and exposure to professional theatre that many traditional acting schools, acting classes and academic programs simply can’t match.
