If you know anything about my work or have been referred by an agent, CD or friend, then you know that I love what I do.
Having grown up in the small university town of Davis, California I appreciate and maintain a very down-to-earth approach to life, people and photography. I photograph people in a very relaxed, engaging, upbeat way and pride myself on being able to genuinely capture the person I’m photographing; seeing beauty in what makes everyone unique. National Geographic photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt said, “It is more important to click with people than to click the shutter.” These are words I live by.
While based in New York City, I have an average shooting schedule of about 300 clients a year and have worked with almost every talent agency on both coasts. I also travel quite a bit, photographing actors, authors and business people in Los Angeles, Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas, Toronto, Mumbai and give headshot workshops at various universities around the country. (I’m also an adjunct professor of photography at Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School)
Prior to working as a portrait photographer, I worked as an actor for almost a decade in New York and Los Angeles, doing everything from performance theater with Diane Paulus to Shakespeare with Charles Marowitz and Ibsen with Sir Ian McKellen, and guest-starring on a bunch of forgettable TV shows in LA. What does this all mean? I know actors and creative thinkers. It’s deliciously in my blood.
We would love to hear from you. So feel free to drop us an email or give us an old-fashioned phone call, anytime.
